Abstract

Tourism development will be optimal when the potential of an area can be managed properly by stakeholders, by maximizing coordination and integrating their roles and functions to manage their resources. The problems faced by Kerta Tourism Village indicate the weaknesses in its development, therefore efforts are required to improve potential management. One of them is by increasing the contributions through collaboration between stakeholders. This study aims to analyze the role of stakeholders and to formulate a collaborative model in the development of Kerta Tourism Village. The method utilized in this study is a qualitative method with data collection techniques through document analysis, observation, and in-depth interviews with stakeholders that involved in Kerta Village development. The results of this study showed the stakeholders have played their role, yet the involvement of businesses and the media are still relatively low. The collaborative model is formulated by placing the community as the core of development and supported by academics, government, business, and the media as the supporting actors. Abstract

The phenomenon of Mount Agung eruption has a negative impact on Ubud tourism. The impact of this event was greater than the 2002 Bali bombing. Generally, governments and tourism actors in Ubud have no yet a specific management to reduce the negative impact of Mount Agung eruptions. This research is qualitative descriptive method approach with case study research. Primary data in this study were obtained from interviews with informants namely; government, tourism institutions (NGOs) and tourism industry players in Ubud. Researchers also used online desk research to collect the secondary data that already exists on the internet from trusted sources in the form of public documents (images, e-news), or personal documents (e-mail, work reports and results of minute meetings). The result of this study, there were obtained four stages of crisis handling carried out by Ubud’s tourism actors namely 4R such as, reduction, readiness, response, and recovery. To minimize the negative impact of Mount Agung eruption, stakeholder needs synergetic all elements such government, non-government organizations (NGOs), industry actors, communities and other stakeholders to keep tourism sector remains conducive. Abstract

The increase in number of tourists dominated by millenials that always wants to get attention on Instagram (instagrammable) or other social media, such as facebook, whatsapp, line, and twitter giving opportunities to community of Wanagiri Village for developing selfie tourism. Along with their creativity, community of Wanagiri Village carried out selfie tourism around Nature Tourism Park of Lake Buyan and Tamblingan, which increased disharmony between local people (in this case represented by desa adat) with local government. This research was conducted based on qualitative research with descriptive model, which the purposes are: 1) Knowing the development of selfie tourism in Wanagiri Village; 2) Examining the implementation of policies for selfie tourism in Wanagiri Village; 3) Knowing the implications of selfie tourism for local people in Wanagiri Village. The results showed three main things. First, selfie tourism in Wanagiri Village creates relation pattern between the desa adat Wanagiri, Bali Natural Resources Conservation Center, Buleleng Regency Tourism Office, and the investors. The relation pattern forms synergy that occurs between all of them through the beliefs and all parties to regulation, as happened in Balinese concept "Sagilik Saguluk Salunglung Sabayantaka". Abstract

This article analyzed the participation of the local communities to develop the tourist attractions in the Old Town of Jakarta which was conducted to determine the forms of participation necessary for the local communities, to determine the factors which a ect the participation, and the impact of their participation. The methods utilized in this article are qualitative methods with data collection through interviews, observation, literature review, and document analysis. This article explains the forms of participation of the local communities which involve creating and showing new tourist attractions and preserving the existing tourist attractions. The factors which a ect the participation are divided into two types: supporting factors and the obstacles. In addition, this article also managed to nd the impact of the local communities participation which divided into two types: positive and negative impacts. The expected result of this article is to contribute to developing the tourist attractions and sustainable tourism in Jakarta as well as Jakarta’s Old Town in particular.

Abstract

Muntigunung Tourism Village is currently designated as a tourist village by the Karangasem Regency Government. The reason of Muntigunung Tourism Village as a new tourism village in Karangasem Regency because Muntigunung Tourism Village has natural beauty that is still natural, a culture that is still traditional and expected to minimize the level of poverty and beggar activities carried out by the Muntigunung Tourism Village community. This research analyzes the development strategy of Muntigunung Tourism Village. The data can be described descriptively qualitatively and analyzed using SWOT analysis techniques. The research of this study indicate that the strategy S-O (strengts-opportunities) that is applied aims to use the power possessed by utilizing the opportunities that exist. The S-T Strategy (Strenghts-Threats) that is applied aims to utilize the strength that is possessed to minimize existing threats. W-O (weakness-opportunities) strategy that aims to minimize weaknesses that are owned by exploiting opportunities. W-T (Weakness-Threats) strategies are implemented to minimize weaknesses to avoid threats. Keywords: SWOT, Development Strategy, Tourism Village

Abstract

Tourism are progressing and even expanding to some remote villages in Bali. Developing a tourist village is considered important since it engages local people in any tourism industry activities. The four elements of tourism, namely: tourist attraction, accessibility, amenities, and ancillary services are “must have” elements for a tourist destination in order to develop tourism in an area. One of the elements namely facilities (amenities) are providing tourists with their needs for accommodation and homestay as an ideal solution for tourist villages to engage local people (community-based tourism) in tourism industries. The purpose of this research is to identify the influence of cottage / homestay business managed by local community to develop a tourist village in Ubud. This study uses the theory of causality (the theory built by cause and effect), and the concept of sustainable tourism. The research method used is qualitative method, and the analysis used is SWOT analysis to identify the influence of homestay on the development of tourist village in Ubud. The results of this study show that the existence of homestay as a main support of sustainable cultural tourism greatly affect the development of tourist villages in Ubud area.

Abstract

The study aims to evaluate the quality improvement activities in order to appeal tracking tours in Gianyar regency, Bali. The concept used in this study is the evaluation of the concept, the concept of tourism potential and attractions as well as the concept of rural tourism, village tourism concept, the concept of alternative tourism, archaeological tourism concept and the concept of alternative tourism. The theory is used to analyze this study is the evaluation theory, the theory of sustainable tourism development and tourism destination development theory are analyzed with models CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product). Moreover, the constraints faced in the implementation of development Ancient Tracking One at the Tourism Village Bedulu and Villages Buruan. Associated with the constraints in the development of Ancient Track One can be seen from has not been established as a legal organization as a manager of a tourist attraction. Suggestions put forward in this study, namely: commitment required for the implementation of tourism activities Ancient Track One, with no synchronization between the aspects of context, input, process and product development of tourism in Ancient Track One, as a tourist attraction based on historical and archaeological heritage, tourist areas need to be set right brand that can distinguish between this region with other regions.

Abstract

Madakaripura Waterfall as the highest waterfall in Java Island has shown an increase number of tourists visit every year, however there are still many problems such as lack of facilities, accessibility and quality of human resources. This problem makes research on management strategy at Madakaripura Waterfall important to do. The research aimed to identify the existing conditions of tourist attraction, then the motivates and obstacles for the management and management strategy that will be carried out by stakeholders. This research used qualitative descriptive analysis and SWOT analysis techniques. Data collection was done by observation, interviews, documentation and literature studies. The results showed that the position of Madakaripura Waterfall based on Tourism Area Life Cycle theory is in involvement stage. The motivation behind the management are strengths and opportunities and the obstacle for management are weaknesses and threats. The management strategies by stakeholders are planning, organization, actuating and controlling. From the management strategy by stakeholders, this study offers a new management strategy for consideration and suggestions by the SO, WO, ST, and WT strategy which are compiled as follows: dig and use the potential of Madakaripura Waterfall, designing attractive and affordable tour packages to welcome tourists in the new normal era, the necessity of authority agency to synergize both managers, create strict penalty for local people, improving the quality of human resources, improving mitigation and pay attention to the quality of service for tourists.
